West Midlands Mayor Andy Street is challenging the creative minds leading a West Midlands revolution in TV and film to win an Oscar or a Bafta for the region within five years.
It's been over a year since I unveiled my ambitious Transport Plan, which depicted how our towns and cities will need to be linked in the coming decades, and we've already made huge progress.
A year ago, I stood in the halls of Aldridge Transport Museum, surrounded by historic vehicles of all shapes and sizes, to unveil my 2040 Transport Plan.
Progress is continuing to be made on tackling homelessness, including for the most vulnerable. I have championed a “Housing First” approach, which prioritises getting people into a home and then helping them with their other problems.
As we rebuild our economy I am determined the West Midlands will be an economic leader again, in the industries of the future, with thousands of new jobs created.
As well as bringing in more funding to protect jobs I have been lobbying Government, privately and publicly, for support for key industries and those most affected.
